PROJECTS
Empowering Filipino Families in Promoting Online Safety Through Masayang Pamilya Para sa Batang Pilipino Program
With the support of Safe Online, we enhanced the Masayang Pamilya Program to integrate parenting skills and family strategies that promote children’s online safety and responsible, informed use of digital technology. These strategies were adapted from the International Telecommunication Union’s Child Online Protection initiative. The program also aims to prevent and address online child sexual exploitation and abuse (OCSEA), including cyber violence, grooming, and misinformation. It uses a multi-stakeholder engagement approach to ensure a coordinated response and integration into local government systems. Â
Enhancing Comprehensive Prevention and Response Strategies for OSAEC in Valenzuela City
Through the support of the Rotary Club of Makati, in collaboration with the Valenzuela City Social Welfare and Development Office, we aim to reduce children’s vulnerability to online sexual abuse and exploitation (OSAEC) in Valenzuela City. Our efforts focus on strengthening the local prevention and response system by increasing the awareness and capacity of children, parents, caregivers, business-sector representatives, and members of the local multidisciplinary team to prevent, recognize, respond to, and report OSAEC cases and other online risks. Through this community-wide approach, we seek to foster a safe, informed, and responsive community where different sectors work together to protect children and promote their safety in the digital world.
Evidence-Based Parenting for Teens and TeenageParents for Catbalogan, Samar and Brooke’s Point, Palawan
Together with UNICEF, we are co-developing culturally appropriate parenting support for families with teens and teen parents in Catbalogan, Samar, and Brooke’s Point, Palawan, using a participatory and iterative approach. Our main focus is on the effective integration of gender-transformative parenting, adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH), and the prevention of child, early, and forced marriage and unions (CEFMU) into the program modules. Ultimately, UNICEF and MaPa Org., Inc. aim to integrate these enhanced parenting programs into local government systems through the DSWD KALINGA Programme.
Global Parenting Initiative (GPI) Project
In partnership with Oxford University and Ateneo de Manila University, we are part of the Global Parenting Initiative (GPI), which develops and scales evidence-based parenting interventions worldwide. Through this project, we provide culturally relevant parenting resources to help strengthen family bonds and promote positive child development.
Family Development Sessions (FDS) Strengthening Project
In collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), we work to strengthen the Family Development Sessions (FDS) by equipping parents and caregivers with effective parenting strategies. Our goal is to support Filipino families in building positive relationships and fostering holistic child growth.
Evidence-Based Parenting Programme for Teens and Teenage Parents
Through our partnership with UNICEF Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University, we deliver this project in Cagayan de Oro and Angeles City, focusing on the unique challenges of parenting during adolescence. We empower teenage parents and guide young individuals on building strong relationships, understanding reproductive health, and developing essential life skills for a better future.
Parenting Children in Crisis (PCC)
As part of the Playful Parenting for All Project, the Parenting Children in Crisis (PCC) Program is designed to support families facing difficult circumstances such as displacement, disasters, and conflict. We provide parents and caregivers with practical, evidence-based strategies to help children feel safe, loved, and emotionally secure despite the challenges they encounter.
Through this program, we equip families with tools to manage stress, foster resilience, and strengthen parent-child relationships even in the most trying times. By promoting playful and positive parenting, we aim to create nurturing environments where children can thrive, no matter the situation.
